The GearMotive ZF Sequential Dogbox transmission is based on their well-known H-pattern dogbox gearset. This sequential transmission uses same type of gears and shafts, which have been proven to work on various racing classes and has become a highly favoured product specially in Rally, Circuit Racing and Drifting. The gearset is proven to work on over 1100Nm power in Drifting and Drag racing.

Now the gearset is combined with Sequential shifting mechanisms and housing providing even faster and more flawless gear changes. BMW ZF bell housing is mated with GearMotive’s custom manufactured rear housing, which measures to same dimensions as a ZF stock rear housing. The GearMotive ZF Sequential can be bolt-on to replace original BMW ZF S5D transmission. A sequential shifter is installed into the stock shifter position and is very easy installation.

The GearMotive Sequential shifter is self-centering, very sleek black design, made from high-quality aluminium material. The shifter has integrated shiftcut sensors, providing an option to use flat shifting.

The Gear Display is a multi-colour touch screen display. The display shows the gear position and allows configuring various options, such as shift cut sensitivity.

The GearMotive Sequential Electronic Control Module (ECM) is a separate box having ready-made wiring kit. The wiring kit is installed to the shifter, gear position sensor, gear display, power source and possibly to an aftermarket ECU for shift cut and gear position info. The ECM will be able to control shift cut even for vehicles with the stock ECU (future option).

For high power vehicles (over 500hp), GearMotive offer a heavy-duty HD input shaft option.

Electric Kit (display, ECM, wiring)

Electric kit comes with: a touch screen display, ECM (Electric Control Module) and wiring kit.

  • Display shows the current gear position, and offers configuring options for gear position and shift cut adjusting
  • ECM is a control box combining the functions of display and shifter.
    ECM can be also wired into the after market ECU for gear display or shift cut functionality
    UPCOMING: ECM Will be able to control shift cut for stock ECUs
  • Wiring kit is very easy to install with ready made wires and connectors. Wiring kit combines Gearbox, Shifter, Display and ECM together

 

Bellhousing

ZF Sequential dogbox requires ZF S5D model bell housing to fit it into the engine. ZF Sequential is designed in a such way that bell housing is a part of the gearbox and oil space. This has allowed us to make the gearbox so small and is a bolt on to replace S5D stock box or existing GearMotive ZF dogboxes.

  • ZF Sequential can be mated with any ZF S5D bellhousing. Suitable bell housing models are (Number in bell housing):
