Air duct inlet:

In order to transport the air to the outlet of the brake ventilation, a suitable inlet is essential. This is not so easy with the Golf 7 and the Seat Leon Cupra 5F. Every area behind the bumper is used, leaving no room for an additional channel without major modifications. However, all vehicles have one thing in common, regardless of the equipment and whether you drive the manual transmission or DSG: a good location on the underbody. Speed Engineering’s duct is attached with 3 screws and allows a connection to our anchor plate via an air hose. Important: The hose routing must be laid carefully and can lead to chafing on the hose after a certain time due to many steering units up to full lock.

Air duct outlet:

Speed Engineering’s kit channels air flow to the centre of the brake disc, in order to use the turbine effect to cool the disc from the inside. They target the window at an angle so as not to suffer any wastage and to use the available air volume as efficiently as possible. Thanks to the lightweight construction in combination with powdered aluminium, the component is sufficiently strong and at the same time light and insensitive. The ball joint of your wishbone is extremely close to the hot brake disc and will be affected over time. Therefore, this anchor plate has additional shielding for the bearing and thereby increases longevity.

The different models vary slightly in the wheel position, coupled with different chassis geometries and wheel and tire combinations, it becomes impossible for Speed Engineering to cover all variants. In the worst case, the wheel could rest slightly when the steering wheel is at full lock (which should only be the case when parking), which cannot lead to any damage to the tire. In this case they would ask you to forego the last ¼ of the steering turns.
