CanChecked MFD28 Data Display for E9X incl. M3

Access to all engine data. The sensors are queried directly via Can Bus and are displayed on this  MFD28 . The display for the BMW E-Series comes with a vehicle-specific cover and fits into the interior like an original part. This means that the ventilation through the slots remains intact.

The display emulates a manufacturer tester so all detailed values ​​are available with optimized protocol to achieve maximum query speed.

Seamless vehicle integration

Switch pages with the cruise control button

To make driving safer, CanChecked have integrated the cruise control switch.

If the cruise control is not active, you can use the up/down button to scroll through the views on the display. This has the following advantages

  1. no “searching” for the display while concentrating on the road
  2. Switching even with gloves (on track days)
  3. Quickly and safely check overview pages and then return to the main view

Here is an example video in the BMW F series. On the E-Series, the cruise control lever is located separately under the turn signal lever.

 

Driver Dynamics in the display for BMW E90 E91 E92 E93 incl. M3

CanChecked have developed a special view for all track drivers who want to further improve their driving style and become faster

  • G forces (lateral and longitudinal acceleration)

This sensor technology gives the driver the opportunity to aim for even higher speeds in corners and to hit the braking point even later.

As standard, CanChecked supply your display with a ready-made TRI file. All sensors that are queried are defined here.

Temperatures:

  • Engine water temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, exhaust gas temperature, transmission temperature

Pressures:

  • Boost pressure, target boost pressure, high pressure pump fuel pressure, exhaust back pressure, low pressure, brake pressure, oil pressure

Lambda/mixture

  • Lambda value target/actual, injection correction, short-term lambda adjustment, total ignition angle

Miscellaneous

  • Speed, air mass (g/s), vehicle speed, throttle valve angle, battery voltage, gear, accelerator pedal position, longitudinal and lateral acceleration, steering angle, yaw angle, torque, power, control of the charge pressure control valve,

If values ​​are missing, they can be added easily. It always depends on the motor as to whether it supports the values; sometimes not all sensors are available.

The display bezel fits the following BMW E-series:

  • S65
  • Further engines in preparation and on request

the respective version for RHD (right-hand drive) is available. Data may vary between different engines.

Reading and deleting errors

With a “swipe” down you get access to the “DTC” (Diagnostic Trouble Codes). The display reads the error memory from the engine. Optionally, you can also delete these directly on the display.

Engine errors are displayed in plain text, so you can decide for yourself whether you can continue driving.

 

FAQ

Will the Display heat up in the air vent?

  • No. The Displays are always protected against heat that’s flowing through the air vents.

Will the Air Vent still work with the display installed?

  • Yes it does. We’re always creating air vent solutions that still allow airflow passing by the display through special tunnels.

Can I change the appearance of the display, the units and scales?

  • Yes! With the different widget packs and the option to upload custom graphics you can completely individualize your display.

Can I use analog inputs?

  • Yes there are 6 analog inputs with the option to extend to more with our analog connectors. So you can read Pressures, Temperatures, Ethanol content, etc. We can also create complete packages for what you need!

What ECU Data can CANchecked Access?

  • By default, we deliver a prefabricated TRI file with your display. All sensors that are queried are defined here, f.e.:
    – Temperatures: Exhaust gas temperature, engine water temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, fuel temperature, DSG temperature
    – Pressures: Boost pressure, ambient pressure, fuel pressure, pre-feed pump
    – Lambda / mixture: Lambda value, injection time, short-term lambda adjustment, longterm lambda adjustment
    – Miscellaneous: Speed, air mass (g/s), vehicle speed, throttle valve angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle reduction per cylinder, N75 pulse rate in%, terminal 30 voltage, oil level, torque, gear…
    – If values are missing, they can easily be added.Can I change the look of the boost gauge graphics to match my car?
  • You can use the CANchecked Display Setup Software to upload your own graphics. They need to be in the following format:

– Image Type: 24bit BMP file (R8 G8 B8)
– Sizes: Background: 320 pixels X 240 pixels, Boost gauge: 240 pixels X 240 pixels, Tachometer: 160 pixels X 160 pixels
