Many F8X M2s, M3s and M4s (including Competition models) suffer with a torn differential rear mounting bush. This is an oil-filled, rubber bushing which is quite simply not up to the task of handing the torque which gets distributed through the differential.

BMW clearly agreed, because towards the end of production of the F8X platform, they updated the part to this one – part number 33179503009. This updated bushing features a hard plastic and steel core, with a high-tech foam outer ring and is far better suited to long-lasting performance. Whether running standard power or tuned, this bushing is a key OEM upgrade for the discerning F8X owner.
