Introducing Nostrum Stage 2 N55/S55 Injectors!  Our Stage 2 injectors flow an incredible 55% more fuel than the stock S55 injectors, and 12% more fuel than the EU5 M5 injectors. That additional fuel flow allows for a significant increase in horsepower, with proper tuning. We estimate that these injectors will flow enough fuel to make over 900 wheel horsepower, and have already fuelled more than 700 wheel horsepower vehicles –  without the need for secondary port or meth injection!

 

Inside the box, you will find everything you need to get your new injectors installed quickly, including pre-installed decoupling rings and detailed installation instructions for a high quality install. When you are ready to tune, we have injector tuning data available for your dealer or tuner. Being that everything is installed like a factory part, there’s no need to worry about secondary injection controllers, filling meth tanks, clogged meth injectors, or any of the other complex solutions people use to squeeze more power out of these vehicles. Additionally, these injectors are operating with all the OEM ECU’s engine management system diagnostics and safety functions – resulting in a much happier and responsive system!

Take full advantage of your Nostrum Stage 2 injectors by bundling up! The Stage 2 S55 bundle includes our upgraded high pressure fuel pumps, flowing an incredible 36% more fuel than the stock pumps! That additional fuel flow allows for significant torque increases earlier in the rev range, and provide the injectors with all the fuel they need to make more peak horsepower, when properly tuned. We have a similar Stage 2 bundle for N55 owners, which includes our Big Bore pump that flows 63% more fuel!

Every Nostrum manufactured part is backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Our products are comprehensive solutions that come complete with everything you need inside the box, including detailed installation instructions. Tuning guides are also available for your dealer or tuner. We have customer service and calibration engineers on staff to provide you with any support that you may need, from installation to tuning.

 

Why is spray pattern important?

While increasing flow rate is critical to making more horsepower, there are other factors to consider when choosing fuel system upgrades. A bigger injector isn’t always a better injector! It can flow a large volume of fuel at WOT, but if the spray pattern is poor, you can expect poor idle quality, poor drivability, increased knock propensity, soot, NVH (noise vibration harshness,) and tuning difficulty. Additionally, the wrong spray pattern can result in liquid fuel impinging in the cylinder walls, causing oil dilution, which increases mechanical wear to internal engine components.

Nostrum has invested significant time and resources into acquiring the equipment and machinery necessary to deliver an OEM level of quality on our injectors. Our spray patternation and arc flash machines (images below) give us an unparalleled look at how an OEM injector is designed and how it operates.  Our engineers design and develop injectors to optimally interact with engine air flow inside the combustion chamber to improve fuel evaporation and create a homogenous air-fuel mixture that results in a higher combustion quality. Q: Will these work on the S63?

Q: Do these require coding? 

A: To achieve the best performance from your Nostrum injectors we recommend coding them. Coding injectors will improve idle quality by removing compensations specific to your old injectors, which allows you to take full advantage of Nostrum’s batching process for a complete high quality driving experience.

Q: What software can I use to code my injectors? 

A: You can code the injectors using BMW ISTA+, Autel MaxiSys service tools, ANSEL BM700, and potentially other service tools – Not validated by Nostrum

Q: Do these flow more than the EU5 M5? 

A: The flow rate of these injectors is 12% higher than EU5 M5 injectors when compared to stock, and have the OEM equivalent spray pattern with the proper spray orientation for the S/N55 combustion system.

Q: People say  the “spray pattern is bad and the flows are no good”.  

A: Every injector is production tested in our GDI machine and has more than 700 data points including multiple leak tests, multiple static flow rates, multiple dynamic flow rates, maximum operating pressure, maximum flow rate, opening & closing time, continuity, and resistance. This assures the individual injector quality.

Every batch of 6 injectors is flow matched at 5 different data points to be sure the set is well within the +/-5% to set nominal flow rate. This assures the set flow performs with specification

The spray pattern for stage 2 is an OEM equivalent spray pattern. The 6 hole spray targeted spray pattern is within 3% of the OEM cone angle and bend angle. This is validated on our HexCell spray patternation asset (see image)

High-load long duration engines failures have occurred on systems employing dual port meth injection to make-up the fueling for 800+ whp builds. For builds of that size, we recommend our Stage 3 injectors as opposed to meth injection.
